Bird notes from today
- The pair of Great Crested Grebes with juveniles swam towards the recently arrived pair as if to confront them. They then started to display: rather half-heartedly – but then it was in front of the children!
- All the juvenile Moorhens were noted scampering about without any sign of shepherding adults. From three different broods?

- Mallard hiding in the vegetation: many un-sexed and un-aged (and unseen!).
- Two Coot broods heard only with birds hiding away.
- single Swift and House Martin powered through
