Priorslee Lake and The Flash

Priorslee Lake:  14:00 – 14:25
The Flash:  14:30 – 15:10

10.0°C:  Cloudy with light showers. Strong SW wind. Good visibility.

[Sunrise: 07:37 GMT]

A short visit to see what had been blown in by Storm Ciara. Answer: nothing – seemed to have been blown out.

Priorslee Lake:  14:00 – 14:25

(28th visit of the year)

The floods of rain have turned the lake brown again.

Bird notes:
- Little Grebes were venturing out of the reeds.
- A few gulls over – very low numbers of gulls.

Bird totals:

Birds noted flying over or flying near the lake:
- 5 Black-headed Gulls
- 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull: first-winter
- 5 Herring Gulls: all first-winters

Counts from the lake area:
- 2 + 4 Mute Swans
- 3 (2♂) Mallard
- 7 (3♂) Tufted Duck
- 1 Cormorant
- 2 Little Grebes
- 3 Great Crested Grebes
- 6 Moorhens
- 55 Coots
- 44 Black-headed Gulls
- 2 Herring Gulls: both very briefly; one adult; one first-winter

Ringed Birds 
Today Roger Clay found 75 ringed birds. Only 12 of these had he seen on previous days before. There were:

- 3 from Iceland
- 3 from Netherlands
- 3 Still to be checked and the remaining ringed birds were all from the UK
