The Flash: 16:30 – 17:35
(191st visit of the year)
A more or less full walk around here between the showers
Notes from here:
- One of the duck Mallards was persistently diving and emerging with weed. I have often seen this species dive to wet its feathers before preening but cannot recall seeing one diving for weed like a Tufted Duck. They will make small dives for bread and corn provided by the residents, but these were persistent and lengthy dives.
- Two Mallard ducklings seen on the island: still look very small.
- The two Sparrowhawks were sparring high over the wood to the SE. As these seemed to be the same size I assume that at least one of the them was a juvenile. They came under attack from six Magpies and dispersed.
