No sightings in today.

Note:

In Dorset there are now good numbers of Ivy Bees (Colletes hederae). This seasonal bee was first seen in the British Isles in Dorset in 2001, having arrived from continental Europe and has kept moving north ever since. So don't forget to check your local Ivy flowers.

For me this is a real stunner of a bee and a species that is solely dependent on Ivy flowers for its Pollen and Nectar. It can only be seen between September and the end of October/early November, depending on the amount of Ivy still in flower.

It can, like this video shows, take nectar from Common Ragwort. (Martin Adlam - PortandWey Blog)
